Te Waimokihi Haka
A huge mihi to Matua Teira who has come on board this year. He has written this haka 'Te Waimokihi' specially for West Spreydon School. The haka reflects our school values; Attitude, Adventure and Achievement, and the history of our area. The haka also includes our school whakataukī; 'Whaia te iti kahurangi, ki te tūohu koe, me he maunga teitei.' This haka is a call for our tamariki to stand tall together and challenge themselves to be the best they can be. We are so grateful to Matua Teira for this taonga and for all his mahi with our tamariki. Ngā mihi nui ki a koe.
Below you will find the kupu (words) and videos of the tamariki learning and performing the haka. This will help you to learn it at home.
